better man
today's the balloon hat festival! it's actually a two-day event, but i only attended it todaY mainly because my alma mater was performing.

their attire was quite odd, i must say.
sentosa was sweltering, and i nearly got charred. i was grouchy and rather short-fused, and i'd like to blame it on the weather, haha. hell hath no fury like a woman
scorned scorched.
the trams were crowded and squeezy because most of the angmohs seemed fat and they refused to move. no offence here, but i was slightly irritated. the weather remember, the weather.

the blue trammmmm.
so anyway, the balloon hat festival got pretty exciting nearing the finale. there was a parade at palawan beach and the bands had to make their apperance one by one, flashing their very own unique designs of the balloon hats!

i thought this was cute, haha.
i was anticipating for tkgs' display, of course. but i'll comment on that later! now, it's time for photos of some very colourful balloon hats!
my personal favourite was worn by this guy who was busy making hats for little kids all the while. very colourful, very extravagant. i like :)

nice right?
the first band was impressive and impactful with their drumline being at the front. they were so loud, i could feel my insides thumping as the drum beats sounded.

ping yi & spring field secondary.

their balloon hat - i thought the design was pretty exquisite. i know it wasn't easy keeping those balloons in place, so good job there!
oh yes, felix was there too. haha he was helping out and all. very enthusiastic guy!

mm, pastel colours didn't quite work for me.

henderson secondary did quite a neat job yeah! their uberly colourful hats reminded me of starburst sweets. haha i like them too :) ooh, but their raffia-stringed skirts were quite.. funny, haha. i'll leave it to your interpretation alright.

their hats are kinda lacking in appeal, but effort is shown so it definitely is something commendable!

shuqun secondary's hats seemed rather convoluted, and they all have a healthy burst of fruity colours! ooh yes, can yu spot ms sia on the left of the photo? haha, she was donning a highly intricate and HIGH balloon hat. i think it was too high because it couldn't stay in shape.

pretty pretty hats.

i will always remember the name of this school. no, i'm not gonna comment on their hats, but their uniforms! look! haha they were really on top (uni)form. they were the most well-dressed. i'm impressed because it was burning hot at sentosa!

beautiful hats! they look like butterflies. ooh, tkgs made her appearance before st nicholas actually. but apologies, i don't have photos because i took a full video of it. video better right?! haha.

giraffes!

the parade started with a blast, and ended with one too :) this was the last band to parade. the school brought a lot of zest and energy as they marched on. very colourful too, i like colours! haha :)
there were altogether 22 bands, but i highlighted only a few. okay, not a few, but quite a handful.

the island's percussionists! not a bad performance. i like the hats! very eye-catching.

the grand finale! it's quite a spectacular sight, isn't it! haha can yu spot the tkgs girls? mm, their hats weren't the most attractive.

they released numerous balloons into the sky and left me in awe, haha :)
so what do yu people think of the BHF?
personally i thought the previous BHF in which i participated was better. our hats were taller and prettier! haha :) in my opinion la.
(oh shit, i can't upload anymore pictures. haha i'll continue the last bit of this post later then.)
