big yellow taxi.
i'm thinking of taking a two-month hiatus, and only resume blogging after promos. haha, but do yu realise it's easier said than done. i must really instill some self-discipline in myself, and stop my itchy fingers from switching on the computer.
countdown to promos : forty /

FORTY (short) days!
i hope i'll still be alive by then.
right then, i've decided to blog after some contemplation, but nope. i'm not gonna start lamenting over the monotony of jc life i.e. having to spend at least 3 hours on a single mind-numbing tutorial, painstakingly completing as many questions as possible, and the teacher simply goes through the entire tutorial within one period. there isn't much time to study cause we're spending three-quarters of our lives doing tutorials. and the teachers are giving out tutorials like free la.
anyhoooo, i heard xy and i are telepathic! we seem to be thinking along the same frequency all the time! for example, we give almost the exact same responses to certain things in unison. sometimes, it scares me. haha, but it's quite interesting isn't it - to be able to find somebody of the same mind on most issues.
gosh, that reminds me. i ps-ed xy just now! was supposed to meet up with her for dinner but i went home to take a nap! haha, really sorry xy. i really wanted to meet up with yu. the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak. haha =)
yesterday's gp lesson was full of fascinating insights. ms goh was teaching about the Arts when she suddenly came to the topic on discrimination? i'm not sure, but she brought our attention to an illegal execution of an accused person by a mob known as lynching. the website says lynching was originally a system of punishment used by whites against african american slaves. i was surfing the net when i found some disturbing photographs on lynching. damn freaky la.
haa, i realised i'm such an ignorant person. i didn't even know about lynching before ms goh told us.
here's a poem about it :
Strange FruitAbel Meeropol (1939)
Southern trees bear a strange fruit,
Blood on the leaves and blood at the root,
Black body swinging in the Southern breeze,
Strange fruit hanging from the poplar trees.
Pastoral scene of the gallant South,
The bulging eyes and the twisted mouth,
Scent of magnolia sweet and fresh,
And the sudden smell of burning flesh!
Here is a fruit for the crows to pluck,
For the rain to gather, for the wind to suck,
For the sun to rot, for a tree to drop,
Here is a strange and bitter crop.
the strange and bitter crop is referring to the lynched victim bytheway. disturbing huh. maybe that's why i can't seem to take my mind off it.
i don't know why, but i'm really intrigued by this whole lynching thing. i'm so weird that i can't stand myself.
okay, i'm going to bed soon.
hopefully i'll find the time to blog soon too.
goodnight.
